From the interview, "This guy's gone global." That's for sure. It is showing off the power of the internet to make nobodies into somebodies overnight. American TV networks are starting to clamor for interviews with him. He is rapidly becoming a cult hero like Stephen King, who had a similar beginning to his.

They want a makeover for him to make him presentable for mass marketing. I wonder how he will handle fame with its adulations, temptations and pressures? What will it and the money do to him and his family? I also hope he is able to do what he said in the interview, to remain true to himself. Often, the pain of our youth serves us well as adults.

I can imagine how this shy, self-conscious man was bullied in school not only for being a shy and probably weak kid, but also all the more for his interest in opera. I can only imagine how it would have been at my high school if one of us "sang opera." Ay, yi, yi.
