And benefits are down, which is essentially a drop in pay or go without situation. And 'normal' life is more expensive. In the old days you didn't have to pay for a cell phone, an Internet connection (or a computer for that matter), or cable (TV was 'free'). Plus inflation is kicking in.

I don't know what your numbers say, but there used to be a lot more options. There were good paying jobs even for people without a high school degree... they might be miserable jobs but one worker could support a family. Not now.

And there are so many single mothers working two jobs. Tough. One bad thing happens to the kid and they are bankrupt. And thanks to the Republicans there is no fresh start after bankruptcy; it follows you for the rest of your life.

But, God bless them, the rich are doing fabulous!
