Lower taxes do not help people on the very low end of the wage scale.

Yes they do. Many of the "working class" have been helped by the lower taxes, to the point where they don't have to pay taxes anymore. Before the tax cuts for their income brackets a larger percentage of them did have to pay taxes.

And they are helped by the indirect effects on the economy.

As for your sarcastic "the are doing GREAT", of course their not. Being poor isn't great. But overall they have it better then in the past, and overall, esp. in the long run, they are helped by lower taxes.
