I'll allow that some liberals are certainly like that. But some on the left are anti-American, theres just no way around it. I've seen some who try to distinguish between liberals and leftists for this reason.
I've not argued that there are no anti-American statements from leftists. I've only argued that the phenomenon has been exaggerated by people who don't make that distinction, who seem to need to make the problem worse than it is.
I wonder if you'd agree that the expressions below are also anti-American?
Yes, I would. When Americans say that their country sucks, lock, stock, and barrel, and say it with hostility rather than sadness, to boot, that's anti-American. Saying that the President sucks, even with hostility, isn't.
