My broker would sell me out with no compunction whatever, and without even a 24-hour delay, and with much better security than Bear Stearns is offering, if I had a stock position on margin that dropped below $5.00 a share, even if it was a perfectly solid company.

The hell with the Bear Stearns fund. Now let's see if Bernanke tries to rescue them.
