The hyperinflation you are looking for is there, it is just covering up the deflation in assets that would have occured had we had a more restrictive monetary policy as EM assets and ours come towards one another.By doing what we are doing their assets rise in value towards ours at a quicker rate than they otherwise would(gold and oil also rise)and our assets need not fall as much.In the case of the stock mkt, asset values can actually rise as the lower dollar makes us more competative.Did you watch what happened in Argentina?Currency fell by 2/3 and yet in dollars the stock mkt went down much less than this.We are doing the Argentina shuffle but with a leaner, meaner economic system and should do much better than they did.Imagine what would have happened to housing prices if we had played our cards any other way.Too many on these boards have refused to take off their blinders and enjoy the free ride. Some have blinders caused by nationalist pride and anger that the EM"s could do anything other than they have for the last 30 years(Elroy),others are blinded by their economic notions that have become an integral part of their very brain and can not be given up any more than their political party(Mish). Then there are the moral righteous ones(I was once here as well as partialy in Mish's camp)who insist that it is just plain decadent that we burn the savers to reward the gamblers(they long for a repeat of the great depression where their long hard savings pays off like the ant and the grasshopper story and they laugh as the grasshopper begs for food during the winter). Finally,we have the anticapitalist posters who hang out in anger and hate that anything can go right in our capitalistic system. They hate the greed and selfishness that is at the heart of capitalism as it recognizes the true nature of man. They know they are not like this as they have heard the same whisper that Adam and Eve heard in the Garden of Eden "You too can be like God"They know they are good at heart and could make all the right choices if just given a chance.Guys-DONT WORRY BE HAPPY
