Building on Cable's Strength - Motorola Highlights New Bandwidth-Expansion Technologies and Mobile Media Solutions at Cable-Tec Expo biz.yahoo.com Wednesday June 20, 8:00 am ET
ORLANDO, Fla., June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers Cable-Tec Expo (Orlando Convention Center), Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) will showcase the company's portfolio of network solutions designed to enable media mobilization for cable service providers. By boosting bandwidth through the cable infrastructure and offering advanced, digital services, Motorola is helping cable companies connect consumers to the content that is most important to them, thereby helping to drive new revenue streams and increase customer loyalty.
As consumer appetites grow for video-on-demand (VOD), high-definition (HD) programming and converged services, service providers must increase bandwidth capacity while still leveraging existing investments. Adding to its suite of bandwidth-expansion solutions, Motorola is introducing a new high-density, downstream module for the Broadband Services Router BSR 64000, and Enhanced Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (E-CWDM) technology for transmitting multiple optical signals over an existing fiber. These solutions, combined with other channel bonding, switched digital and deep-fiber technologies, will help drive greater cable network performance for next-generation service offerings.
"Motorola's solutions help enable richer consumer experiences by increasing broadband speeds and mobilizing applications and services in brand new ways," said Dan Moloney, president, Motorola Home and Networks Mobility. "Advanced services, converged networks and, most importantly, mobility enabled by greater bandwidth are the keys to new revenue opportunities and continued competitive advantage for our cable operator customers." |
