The most die hard athiest is always seeking a being more powerful than Earthly persons, to show us what weaklings and dopes we really are. How that helps their case I don't know. They invent a lot of the mind set they attribute to believers then spend an inordinate amount of energy whining about something that is of their own making in the first place. Thus the tendency to invest in their 'beliefs' about aliens. I think that's a cute irony.

I was embarrassed for Sagan, in that this "atheist" clearly depicted his fictional space aliens as godlike or angelic beings, all wise all powerful. Just goes to show atheists are religious after all."

The movie was ok as fiction, not unlike The Matrix. If you are willing to suspend reality for the fantasy, it was interesting and had some cool thought provoking aspects, if you are going to base your spiritual views on it as fact ... uh oh!
