Just accept the fact that you have the opposite view from most here, and nobody is going to change their position.
I do accept that, but, as always, I'm not trying to persuade anyone to change position, merely trying to draw out an understanding of their position--rationale, not just propaganda, slogans, and eyes rolling at my inability to grasp the "obvious." If not an understanding, I'd settle for some evidence that there is a rational, supportable basis for their opinion. I see no evidence. The leftists are anti-American because, well, because they are. In fact, I'd settle for some indication of an understanding that one is supposed to have a rational argument for one's opinions, not just having heard it from Hannity or "everyone knows that..."
One of the things that I said I didn't like about American was the dumbing down. This escalation of insults and propaganda between the sides is not good for our country. Every once in a while I feel like I have to stand up against it even though I know it's futile.
these boards are good for two or three comments on an issue, then on to the next
If people would just analyze and respond to my questions, it wouldn't take more than three or four posts. <g>
Seriously, how many posts would it take to answer the question "why is hating Bush's acts the same hating America? Or how is assailing Bush anti-American while assailing Clinton wasn't? Or why can't you hate an invasion while still loving the country whose leaders invaded? Those are pretty simple answers, I think, if you just think a moment about it rather than just shooting back from the hip. |
