Apologies to Roosevelt. Error in the quote I attributed to him. The word 'rugged' had a typo (rudded), and the word 'make' had a typo (mak). Corrected: "No man can lead a public career really worth leading, no man can act with rugged independence, nor strike at great abuses, nor afford to make peaceful and unscrupulous foes, if he himself is vulnerable in private character." (Roosevelt 1913)
