West of Silicon Valley there's a patch of national forest/giant coast redwoods in the middle of the peninsula SW of San Francisco. There's a little stone cabin in a hollow with a slate roof that is almost completely covered with green moss! You really expect to see Hansel and Gretle there! It must have been one of the grandfathered places there before it became a national forest.

They are really incredible places........the setting for so many mystical, fantastical stories.
