you say as if those 2.5 bil people were lying dormant earlier..
world trade as a % of world GDP has increased in the last 25 yrs , no doubt. ( i think now about ~35% from ~20% in 1982)and in thoery that is awesome. But that is also in times when rates had been on decline..interesting times ahead.
