You obviously haven't traveled in recent years. <When 'civilization' must continually be imposed upon us by the authority of conquest ... when unquestioning obedience is virtue, and those who threaten the tranquility of social order are to be subdued, then we have by default judged our brethren in humanity to be incapable of choosing peaceful coexistence on their own.

When order is a victory to be won, security a matter of enforcement, and salvation subject to politics, we accept the rulership mentality of civil order; which, in the hearts of principled men of conscience is no less than psychopathic.

Civilization comes from suppression of barbarians. It's not psychopathic to keep barbarians dead or suppressed. It's essential.

Unfortunately, we usually get too much of a good thing and those who get to be in charge go megalomaniac and suppress or kill everyone, after confiscating their property.

Civilization is thin on the ground.

Israel has got a lot more of it than the Palestinians provide. Or the Iraqis, Syrians and Iranians.
