What if there is a middle? :-)

With the current amount of public dissatisfaction with the politics of the day, (record high 'wrong track' poll numbers, declines in registration percentages for the established parties, post WW II high percentage of registered 'Independent' --- larger then either side of the 'Republicrats') I expect that 2008 might be a bit of an outlier year in politics... and the historical odds not such a good predictor.
