CSFB on SONS - 6/21 5. Sonus Networks. Our meeting with Sonus highlighted the ongoing development of the robust service provider voice-over-IP opportunity and Sonus’s leading competitive position. Independent of our meeting, our checks with industry contacts indicate that Sonus continues to penetrate additional Tier 1 service providers. Sonus already has wins with each of the top 5 and 7 of the top 10 service providers. Recent checks confirm that Sprint is building a new voice over IP network based on Sonus infrastructure (see our note, “Customer Traction – Sprint-Nextel,” dated September 19, 2006). Beyond our earlier commentary, our recent checks indicate this network is scheduled to go live around the end of the third quarter of 2007, which suggests to us that between now and then we will likely see a press release from Sonus announcing this win. More importantly, as we commented in our previous note, we believe this build-out is fairly sizeable, with the potential to drive tens of millions of dollars of revenue. Finally, this win further reinforces our often stated view regarding Sonus’s ability to execute and win against its much larger competitors
