NextWave Acquires WiMAX Spectrum By Wireless Week Staff WirelessWeek - June 19, 2007
NextWave Wireless announced that its subsidiary, Inquam Broadband GmbH, has acquired a 65 percent controlling interest in WiMAX Telecom AG.
Based in Zürich, Switzerland, WiMAX Telecom AG owns wireless broadband spectrum concessions in Austria, Slovakia and Croatia. The spectrum reside in the 3.5 GHz frequency band. WiMAX Telecom operates WiMAX networks in Austria and Slovakia and currently provides wireless broadband service to 8,500 customers.
