Did you notice how they included the absolutely irrelevant comment about the clinton appointees.

The author stated they where Clinton appointees. I'm not sure that's entirely irrelevant. The argument "they are Clinton appointees so they must be wrong" would be ad-hominem, but just stating who appointed them isn't.
