Dear Roger, I have been reviewing the Datek thread over the weekend. I did this as a double check on my decision to open an account with them. On Friday, I over-nighted a check to start my account. After reading the horrer stories that are emerging on this thread I made a decision to find another broker. I immediately called Datek this morning to inform them of my decision. I made a request to the customer service rep to have my check returned undeposited. I informed her as a safety measure that I would stop payment on the check. When asked if by some chance that if the check were deposited if I would be charged a fee for the stop payment return by Datek. I was referred to Accounting. Accounting stated that there would be no attempt to return my check, and It would be deposited. I will now be charged a $50 returned check Fee. I will gladly pay this fee and be done with Datek. WARNING TO ALL WHO TREAD HERE ! Reguards to all who have so faithfully reported thier difficulties... Thankyou
