Take a look at average sq footage. They are very small. You may not like "McMansions," but most people do.

Well if you are rating countries by their home sizes, I'm sure America would come in first place - easily. When I was talking of the successes of the scandinavian countries I was not thinking McMansions, but quality of education, happiness of the people, availability of health care, working conditions, lack of crime, life expectations, etc.

One of the reasons we are able to afford our McMansions is that we are so awfully in debt. Debt is a good thing in my mind to make money or buy a house - but McMansions beyond our ability to pay for them?
