we are able to afford our McMansions is that we are so awfully in debt.
No, we're not. Also, the latest "Happiness" survey I read showed we are much happier than any of the Euros. Richer people have bigger houses. I never saw the advantage of spending your weekends cleaning 4000 SF, but many enjoy it. My place, bought in 65 to raise my family, was 2000 and I had a weekly maid service. Now I have the smallest studio condo I could find on the beach here in Waikiki. Don't like to spend time cleaning.
Don't fall for the phony "better health care" argument. Their Demographics are the reason they live longer. No shorter-lived minorities to count. And the difference in death rates is a combination of two factors. One, the willingness of on the part of their Mothers-to-be getting prenatal. We can't get our minority mothers to use that service as much, even when provided free, as it is in almost all states. The other, and biggest, factor though, is the difference in the way we count "preemie" births vs them. We count the ones who die as living. They don't.
All of the Health care arguments above have been discussed and linked countless times here.
multiculturalism - You mean like in America?
It's much, much worse in Europe. Especially Scandinavia. Plus, they don't integrate their Muslims. No jobs, no work, on that "good" Scandinavian welfare. |
