But the weather's wonderful! Except for the smog. I really like Santa Monica, but if I lived there, I'd have to drive all the way THROUGH LA to get anywhere else.

I don't miss it.....even the weather. Besides, the weather and smog are intertwined.

The ideal spots are the many smaller S. CA coastal towns. It's just VERY expensive to live in any of them.

Yeah, the coastal towns are nice.......you should check out the ones way north of SFO. They are much cheaper and they have decent weather.....not as good as S. CA but still good.
