Here are some other recommendations from Mark Sellers.

I like the wide moat concept. The company that I have been buying recently is ORA. The company has a proven track record in the geothermal space and a world-wide footprint.

The company has over seventy patents and recently announced that they are currently involved with 80% of the geothermal projects in the US.

Most view geothermal as an area that doesn't have a great deal of growth potential, but I believe that global resources are still untapped. Indonesia is considered to be the mother lode of geothermal energy and ORA last year signed a deal there.

One area in the US that makes a great deal of sense is combining geothermal with current oil and gas production. This appears to be very possible in gulf states.

ORA currently has leased land in Texas to explore and is working with the US government in developing geothermal from oil production

ORA also are signing contracts in recovered energy opportunities as well as signing agreements to fully utilize tax credits for the projects they are currently developing for the company.

The company disappointed on first quarter earnings, but I am buying at these levels. I think it is a good long-term opportunity with a wide moat. Apparently, word is there is interest in the stock despite its first quarter miss.
