I read that book, "The Secret," and if taken with a grain of salt it has some valid points not unlike "The Power of Positive Thinking," by Norman Vincent Peale. Some people see the glass as half empty when it's really half full. Some people survive when others perish under exactly the same conditions. Nobody should get too literal about the premise of "like attracts like." It's more like "If you think you are going to fail, you will. If you think you can succeed, you can. Luck plays a part too.
