bear stearns news started the sell off. losses project around 30 billion for first fund and no est for second fund. then ml estimated 7 billion for funds.. after close bear stearns says first fund will cost 1.5 billion and second est around the same or total exposure for both funds 3 billion. this is a far lower number than the 7 billion released by merrill lynch analyst that caused the start of major sell off . per bloomberg early last night.
