What we are dealing with are possible future events. There is no "fact" regarding future events. There is no simplistic "black" or "white" on this issue.

It's like launching a space shuttle. There is an "x" chance that it will return to Earth safely, and "1-x" chance that some accident will occur and the crew all killed. [probability 0="no chance", 1="certainty"]

There are only future probabilities.

In such scenarios two types of decisions are made. (1) Proper risk assessment occurs where all the scientific data is placed on the table and assessed correctly. (2) A "business decision" is made where a supposed constrained financial budget or political considerations force a decision of a particular type to be made. There are now two dramatic instances where NASA has made those types of decisions.

The climate change doubters seem to be hell bent on swiping all the proper scientific data off the table in any decision making process.
