ILT Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Premier Laser, Interdent and LaserMed
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 6 -- Ion Laser Technology, Inc. (Amex: ILT), through its wholly owned subsidiary BriteSmile, Inc., and with the assistance of its patent and litigation counsel Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and Durham, Evans, Jones and Pinegar, carefully analyzed ILT's U.S. Patent No. 5,645,428 with its 37 claims for laser tooth whitening. The Company compared ILT's claims under the patent with the products and processes for tooth whitening marketed by Premier Laser Company, Interdent and LaserMed.
Based upon this analysis, the Company concluded there were clear violations by these three companies of ILT's rights under the patent, which was granted to BriteSmile, Inc. July 8, 1997 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
