Update 3:20 p.m. Mandatory evacuation begun near Tahoe Keys My Brother and Father are preparing for evac. Both are in the area and can see the fire. Though it is being reported as a "spot" fire, when I asked my dad if it was that big he said "hell yes, this is THE fire". Meanwhile, my sister, whose house just burned down is staying with my brother and is preparing to evacuate for a second time. She sounded absolutely defeated. I was going to go up tonight to get my nephews and bring them down here, but it doesn't seem like I will be able to. tahoedailytribune.com Fire commanders have ordered a mandatory evacuation of a neighborhood just west of Highway 89 in Tallac Village. Evacuations were ordered on West Way, Lukins Way and Venice Drive near the Tahoe Keys. Firefighters were going door to door telling residents to flee. A spot fire was reported at West Way and Highway 89. Evacuees are being asked to report to the rec center on Rufus Allen Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.
