I was out on an appointment and was driving down the road and saw 2 people walking. I've never picked anyone up before but one of the guys was about 75. Its about 95 degrees and 90% humidity so I did a u turn and stopped. It was so hot that the older man was throwing up. Turns out their car had died a few miles back and they had a 15 mile walk ahead of them. So I said get in the car and they hopped in - this is where I felt good about stopping. The kid was a military guy back from Iraq and this was his father. I grabbed a bucket out of my trunk so the older guy could throw up if he needed. He was so sick that I took them to the emergency room and they younger kid was thanking me up and down. He had gotten a purple heart and said he wished he could get me one for the help. It went off without a hitch (always a concern when you pick up strangers) and after I found out about the military guy I was thrilled that I stopped. Felt pretty good for the soul. I thanked him for his service and for protecting us and he took my card and said look for something in the mail. It was pretty neat
