CH, can you really not work out the rebuttal for yourself? Sarman is hideous.

Since you are unable to figure it out, I will explain. A person who refuses to pay a ransom is not the evil-doer. The person who harms the hostage and takes the hostage in the first place is the evil-doer.

To help you understand, if some big thug grabs a baby out of a pram, holds a knife to its throat and demands money and sexual access of the mother, but the mother refuses to do as told, so the thug cuts the baby's head off, that doesn't make the mother a criminal. The thug is the criminal.

If you start with that basic concept and work your way out to people held prisoner by Nazis in Germany, who were demanding money with menaces, you might be able to figure it out.
