You're being deliberately obtuse. I say that because the alternative explanation would be a direct insult.

I have no objection to punishing business people who intentionally employ illegals, knowing they are in violation of the law. I DO have an objection to forcing business people to become de facto immigration and law enforcement officials, without pay.

Similarly, I don't mind at all if ordinary citizens CHOOSE to help guard the Border, or walk around with concealed weapons on their city streets. I DO mind if the Government forces them to do so, without pay.

I guess the distinction is beyond you?
