Jim, You may have misunderstood the rumored purchase by Intel of the Alpha CPU design from DEC. The pattent suit is a side issue of this sale, not the primary issue. Digital has good technology in the Alpha, but poor volume. DEC would like to sell it to someone who has the volume to benefit from the technology. That is why INTC is up.
