The houses are very energy efficient and quiet.

See there the good things that can be developed when we don't place false incentives for an industry. (You might want to use concrete instead of cement though.)

Same with the oil industry. We have all kinds of false incentives that seductively make oil more attractive than it should be. Pollution and the war in Iraq for instance are never plugged into the price you pay at the pump.
