The interest paid on credit balances by my broker is approx 1% but only above a minimum.

I noticed that you suggested that money in the bank @ compound interest might have outperformed the increase in market price of your house. What about the "dividend" it paid by providing a roof over your head ?

If you think that long term investment in cash is worthwhile, go for it , Tom ! But not for me, thanks !
