Recent daily volume at NYSE is around 3.26 billion shares of large block tradings; the backroom took over an hour to keep up. Index went up from 88+(4pm) to 90+ at 5pm. When small investors come back from vacation, backroom activity and realtime software will be taxed to the limit. We will see if IBM can handle it with RedHat(MonteVista Linux) and RedHawk(ccur Linux) on wombat applications?
