Ah, you were standing right where Yeats might have stood....what sounds were there? There are ferns, mosses and woods on my humble little property here. In the quiet of the early morning, walking softly, it can transport you. I especially like the mossy spots - good for ruminating... I have an old BBC recording of Yeats reading Lake Isle of Innisfree, with a little prologue preceding. He definitely had a certain cadence and rhythm in mind for that poem. He was up there in years when he made the recording, but what a powerful, resonant voice he had.
