re artists and politics...... Art and politics have have had a symbiotic relationship since the eariliest times.... artist work for the rich and powerfull...that is those in power the job of the artist was often to make visible to all the power and majesty of the patron. The artist was the agent of propaganda...... The politics of the artist was therefore often a primary concern of his employer.
