I may not be the best person to answer this because I'm strongly biased towards SGI. I don't think they are a take over candidate right now. They have great products, great people and loyal customers. Their marketing has not been tight and focused, and I belieive if they reorg upper-management (CEO and VP Marketing) and run a tighter ship, then they will make it on their own. They survived 6 months ago when they were down to $12. No doubt there are a few hungry wolves out there (like HP and SUN).

If you're looking at SGI for the first time, a good buying opportunity can be coming up soon (between $14 and $17.) Unfortunately, it could be a long while until we see $25 to $28 again (6 to 9 months, I'd say.)

Lou.
