This seems unlikely since it was not mentioned, but could the return be for antitrust ("strategic") reasons? I doubt it also because, from what little I know of Merck Kga and Serono's programs, they didn't have any overlap with anti-CD4. So most likely the celebration is indeed spin, but thought I'd float the question, stupid though it may be.

It appears Genmab's share price was actually up slightly here (1% per Yahoo!; it trades on the pink sheets, so I don't know how reliable their data is). The share price lost 1% in Denmark. Volume in Denmark (actually the OMX or Nordic exchange; am I looking in the best place?) was much higher than the previous day (though still only a few thousand versus a few hundred shares, which is another reason to ask if I'm looking at the right exchange), so apparently the news did not go unnoticed, and investors are basically neutral, even as management celebrates.
