I also happened to catch the program with Tavis Smiley himself on Meet the Press. What is significant to me is that the significant portion of the uncommitted are still not supporting Hillary.

I think by making the statement she made, she came across as pandering to the African-American community. And with Obama being on the podium with her it appeared more so. People expected Obama to make that kind of a statement and he did not. Instead he put it in a very different way.
