The very first time I had Pecan Pie was at a restaurant along a road going north out of WDC. We had been touring Our Nation's Capital for about a week with the kids and were on our way back to NJ. It was around lunch time, and we happened upon a nice place to stop. We went in and hubby ordered a soft shell crab sandwich......we all thought he was nuts.....first time we'd ever seen those, and now think they are just so delicious. For some reason we ordered dessert after the main course.......something we very rarely do......and Hubby got the Pecan Pie with Whiskey Sauce. You should have seen the forks flying. Hubby had to take a defensive stance just to get in his own bites. I'm surprised someone didn't get a stab wound. lol I don't think I have ever had a more wonderful dessert since. Absolutely wonderful, and I just have not been able to duplicate that sauce or that pie. As for the Chocolate cake.........the richer the better imo. I hope your BIL has regular physical examinations. Guys, and Gals like him think they can eat away, but just because he is skinny doesn't mean his arteries aren't all clogged up.
