I have room in my faith to look at scientific evidence by whatever means .... To me, science is not the enemy of faith, but the confirmation. I do not follow the teachings of men, but the spirit of truth who guides all men who are willing to listen.
The Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran were fascinating. The entirety of the book of Isaiah was found and when the University in Jerusalem and many other scholars did the translation it was remarkable that very little deviation had occurred in our modern day translations. I mean, for those of us of faith, to believe that holy men of God wrote as they were guided by the Spirit of the Creator, is a profound leap of faith in itself. One cannot hardly believe, knowing human nature, that ruling men with various agendas at different times, did not try and "alter" scripture to serve their nefarious motives of the times.
However, finds, like those at Qumran, only serve to testify to the reality of the Lord preserving his word.
To believe in the literal bodily resurrection of Jesus is easily stated but what heart truly "believes" ...
No way to fake the truth in ones heart, God knows.
It is impossible for men to know God who are void of faith. It is the magical ingredient that initializes the word into a living, demonstrative, substance in our lifes.
As it is written, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.
The intangible of this world, the things not seen by the human eye, is the realm that everything that is to be manifested resides. As Jesus said, God is a Spirit and those who worship him was worship him in spirit and truth. For the people who follow the spirit are the true believers and only God is able to discern and separate the wheat from the chaff ... he is the ruler of men's hearts, the author and the finisher of our faith...
The fool says in his heart, there is no God.
Science will serve to validify the truth of the Word ... it is our friend, not an evil ....
Quite simply, man digging for answers, speculating and testing ... the stronger our conviction the better and the Lord uses many methods to reach each soul ... some are won by compassion, some are held over the fire, but it is God, like the Good Shepard who is constantly seeking for any one lost sheep and will go through extraordinary means to deliver that sheep from whatever perilous situation it might be in.
