Bill Moyers did on PBS recently in talking about Rupert Murdoch. The purpose of public broadcasting is to provide a high level of cultural programming not available on the commercial networks...there are enough people in the country who demand decent music, art, and theater. If they stuck to that I wouldn't have a problem. Documentaries are educational, whether they match your politics or not. Documentaries are not simply educational by definition. They can be slanded and propagandistic just like anything else. Were you aware of Murdoch's machinations before reading Moyers report? , Machinations? The fact you use the word shows you bought into Moyers demonization of Murdoch. Would you use machinations about Gore or Clinton or Pelosi? Gore's movie on global warming is a documentary.....does it make sense to you from a scientific point of view? No. It misrepresents climate science terribly. A prime example of propaganda.
