I agree. When the judge ruled that Libby had to begin serving his sentence before his appeal was heard, IMO that was excessive for someone who was a first time offender who wasn't a risk to society & not a flight risk. By commuting the jail time, Bush left in place significant penalties; the guilty verdict that would ruin his ability to practice law, the $250k fine & 2 years probation.
