I did not read the article, only heard it on CNBC.
Yes, I may have misunderstood.
However, I thought I heard a comment that if INTC paid 1.5 B for Alpha, which does not make $$ for DEC, then DEC would drop the Suit.

If I am correct here, then is not INTC buying Alpha to get out of the suit indirectly.

In any case, INTC would be paying 1.5 B for a business that they don't need and does not really make $$. Maybe they think that they can turn it arround and have Alpha cut into their X86 Buis.
Or maybe they need Alpha to take the next step.
Don't know.

I thnk it is a negative short term atleast.
