Dear Mr./Mrs. Chairman
My company, Digital Equipment Corp., has been severely damaged by the high-handed tactics employed by Intel Corp. They have unfairly monopolized the microporcessor market and are now threatening to dominate the entire Windows based computing environment.
I implore you to investigate Intel and can gurantee you that you will find they employ unfair business practices as their tool to dominate the CPU marketplace.
Our own ALPHA chips are clearly superior to Intel's x86 chips, yet Intel's unfair and illegal marketing tactics prevent our Alpha chip from achieving the market penetration it so righfully deserves.
Please investigate Intel and right all the wrongs that they have done to me and my company. Your assistance in leveling the playing field against this abusive and tyrannical Intel will help restore DEC to its rightful place atop the world's computer manufacturing companies.
Sincerely,
Robert Palmer CEO Digital Equipment Corp. Generous Contributor to the Re-Elect Clinton/Gore Campaign
Letter #2. {====================}

Dear Mr./Mrs. Chairman
Intel Corporation, the world's leading semiconductor manufacturer, has agreed to purchase the ALPHA CPU product line from my company-, Digital Equipment Corp,. Intel has agreed to manufacture our Alpha chips in its own efficient wafer fabrication facilities, reselliing these parts to us at a substantial cost savings to us.
At DEC, we feel that this sale to Intel is in the best interest of DEC, our customers, and the Windows Computing community, so heavily dependent upon the efficient manuafcturing of high performance CPU devices such as our Alpha chip. Intel's genrosity to purchase our Alpha line of CPUs and assume manufacturing responsibility for these, while guaranteeing availability of these devices to DEC and DEC's customers is an act truly reflecting Intel's stature as a leader in the semiconductor industry.
Under the purvue of your jurisdiction for promoting free and balanced trade, we beseech you to grant approval of this sale to Intel in a most expeditious fashion. This will be beneficial to DEC, DEC's customers and all parties concerned.
Thank you very much for your immediate attention to this matter.
By the way - please ignore my prior letter to you.
Sincerely.
Robert Palmer CEO Digital Equipment Corp. Generous Contributor to the Re-Elect Clinton/Gore Campaign |
