One of the coffee shop guy's granddaughter and husband bought a house 10 blocks from the police station and have been broken into 3 times in 3 months. They both work and the first two were when they were gone.

This time she was home and hid in a laundry chute, called 911, took over an hour for the police to respond. Protect and Serve is a motto on the cars and nothing else.
