A friend who is a very ACTIVE trader ("uncle1" here on SI) told me a story that made me appreciate the IB STP device..... On July 2, the large account that "uncle1" keeps at CyberTrader was hacked. The hacker used the account to buy tens of thousands of penny stock shares, thereby affecting the chart patterns and price activity of the subject stocks. My friend spent 3 hours yesterday on the phone with CyberTrader trying to unravel the mess. The CyberTrader fraud team said that these types of hacker attacks were doubling every week or so.... As of this morning, "uncle1" was still working on resolving the CyberTrader hacker attack (new forms, etc. need to be generated and signed). When I heard this, I gained an appreciation for IB launching the STP program. BTW, I have had a few minor challenges getting adjusted to the STP. Since I use TWS at two different offices, I need to carry the STP with me to log on to TWS. Robin, Emmet and Anthony at IB Professional Services have been patient and helpful during my calls for help.
