Peter,
Your points are well taken about 1998 being backend loaded, and seeing that the stock has gotten hit for what seem to us "peons" as fairly minor issues in the context of an overall healthy company. However, if you look at charts going back before January 1996 (before the Fram debacle), you will see what I think is more typical of Adobe, that is a stronger looking stock and company. Expectations are so low for the near future, and the stock has been so underowned for the last year and a half, that it may well run now, in anticipation of the new upgrade cycle to come, rather than wait.

Skepticism high, good company, stock underowned--a nice combination for buyers.

Just my 2 cents.
