ALL THE MORE REASON THEN for *effective strategies*, with an eye out for the long-term, not the short-term... such as ENDING THE IDIOCY of standing in the middle of Islam's incipient civil/religious war, and (by foolishly trying to prevent the Shiite/Sunni conflicts from actualizing and expanding) drawing the ire and spite toward ourselves instead of BENEFITING FROM ISLAM ATTACKING ITSELF.
Which is what I've been arguing all along.
Alright, they don't like us (& more-and-more arrive at that every day - obviously current policy is nowhere near successful). Instead of wailing about the unsavory and undesired developments, and following INEFFECTIVE and WASTEFUL STRATEGIES that appear to harm our national interests and actually SHARPEN the dangers facing us... take EFFECTIVE ACTIONS, and CLEVER STRATEGIES that actually WORK TOWARD ACHIEVING OUR LONG-TERM STRATEGIC INTERESTS, (like telling Uncle Sucker to stand aside from the inter-Islamic wars a-brewing).
Play it smart for once. Don't be manipulated into fighting for someone else's goals, (particularly corrupt Monarchies, Theocracies, and Dictatorships....)
You yourself said 'they aren't out friends'.
So, why in the world would you want to fight their battles for them? Pouring our national treasury out in the sands of the Middle East to no avail instead of watching extremists exhaust themselves and devalue their causes by fighting each other....
