My response to someone over on the GTIS thread that ATVI probably isn't an immediate takeover favorite....

Bob,

I disagree with you on the Activision prediction. I've been fond of ATVI for quite a while and I see this new
GTIS development as being the impetus for other companies to start scrambling to see who they can get. My
prediction since the start of this year was that ATVI would get taken over by either someone in the industry or
by a company
outside of the industry trying to get in. ATVI has a well established distribution system, good brand
awareness, a top notch development
team for in-house productions, strong management, profitability,
a relatively low market cap, no long-term debt, some good franchises... etc. etc. I would like to see the likes
of Time-Warner
(yes...I know...still probably smarting from the ATARI fiasco...but that was hardware...), Microsoft or
Electronic Arts take over ATVI.
IMHO, ERTS and ATVI make a nice fit, game-genre wise, though the overlap in distribution, etc. is a
negative...but could lead to cost savings...

JMHO,

Tom C.
